We would like to welcome you as a volunteer at Wonder Works, a Children's Museum in Oak Park!
Whether it is for school, work or personal choice, volunteering is a rewarding way to give back to the community, learn new skills, meet new people and gain experience in the field of your choice. As a museum, a small business, a non-profit organization and an early childhood facility, Wonder Works provides countless opportunities for our volunteers to learn and grow with us. So if you like reading stories to children, guiding art activities, playing games, answering phones, filing, writing grants, assisting customers, maintaining the grounds, keeping up with exhibits, planning parties, or just about anything else you can think of, Wonder Works may be the place for you.
We encourage long-term commitments, and as such, strive to make the volunteer experience at Wonder Works as fulfilling as possible. We encourage new ideas, suggestions and criticism about anything related to the museum. We also put safety as a first priority, and address all safety issues with diligence, so you can rest assured that Wonder Works is a safe environment, not only for the children, but for volunteers as well. We strongly encourage personal growth, challenging volunteers not just show up to lick envelopes, but to step up and be part of the team, to help plan, change and grow the museum, to step outside their comfort zone and learn new skills and talents they never knew they could; in this way, volunteers gain as much as they give.
