Wonder Works To Host Shirley King In Concert On October 17
"Daughter of the blues" to kick off first of five family concerts at children’s museum

October 8, 2004 - Shirley King, daughter of the blues, will appear at Wonder Works, a Children’s Museum in Oak Park, in a family concert on Sunday, October 17 at 4pm. Wonder Works will remain open until 6pm on the 17th.

King, who tours nationally and has recorded numerous albums, is the daughter of blues legend BB King. She has performed with her father, Koko Taylor, Bobby Blue Bland and countless other blues artists. Her children’s shows are highly interactive, instructive and entertaining.

Tickets are $5 for members and $8 for non-members.

King’s concert is the first in a series of five that will take place the third Sunday of November, January, February and March. Children’s performers Fred Koch, Susan Salidor and Joel Frankel, among others, will perform on the third Sunday of each month except for December.
