Children’s Singer-songwriter Sandy Lucas to Perform at Wonder Works’ 2008 Sunday Concert Series December 14

Oak Park, Illinois - November 24, 2008 - Wonder Works, a Children’s Museum in Oak Park, welcomes Sandy Lucas to the 2008 Sunday Concert Series on December 14 at 4pm.

A native Chicagoan and winner of the prestigious Golden Apple Award for Excellence In Teaching, Lucas has brought together creative expression and learning through the arts with children. As an instructor at the Old Town School of Folk Music and member of the Wiggleworms, Lucas’ lineup provides entertainment for the whole family with her interactive and educational music. Tickets are $5 for members, $7 for non-members and free for children under age one.

This year’s concert series is underwritten by Mattel Inc. on behalf of Eugene P. Beard and the Nancy Jones Beard Foundation. On concert days, Wonder Works will close at 3:30pm, but remain open for concertgoers. All concerts will begin at 4pm. All shows are free for children under age one. Wonder Works, a Children's Museum in Oak Park, provides a hands-on environment intended to strengthen the social, emotional and intellectual development of children up to age 10. The 6,400 square foot museum, located at 6445 West North Avenue in Oak Park, includes exhibits, educational programming, a retail store and a children's party room. The museum is open Wednesday thru Saturday from 10am to 5pm and Sunday noon to 5 pm. Admission is $5 per person and free for members and children under age one.
