Wonder Works to Honor Performer Jim Gill at Gala on Saturday, November 3
Fundraiser will benefit non-profit children's museum and celebrate its fourth birthday

Oak Park, Illinois - October 2, 2007 - Wonder Works, a Children's Museum in Oak Park, will host its annual Gala on Saturday, November 3, 2007 to celebrate the museum's fourth "birthday" and raise money to further its mission of fostering creative spirit in children and families. The Gala takes place at Wonder Works, located at 6445 West North Avenue in Oak Park from 7 to 11 pm and will feature a live and silent auction, games of skill and chance, and food generously provided by Whole Foods Market. Gala tickets are $80 per person or $150 for a pair.

Children's performer Jim Gill, an Oak Park resident who has been educating and inspiring children for over 20 years, will be honored at the event with the Wonder Works Children's Hero Award. Last year, State Senator Don Harmon was honored. Gill is a trained child development specialist and holds a Master's Degree from the Erikson Institute for Advanced Studies in Child Development. He is a proponent of active play between children and adults, and his music helps children and parents sing and play together. Jim's music has received awards from the American Library Association and the Parent's Choice Foundation.

"Jim's music is all about creativity and active play," says committee member Michelle Arnold. "His goals are in synch with Wonder Works' mission, so it is appropriate to honor him at this year's Gala. He is a strong supporter of the museum and has performed there many times, always to a packed house."

Tickets can be ordered by calling Wonder Works at 708.383.4815. For questions about the event, please call Michelle Arnold at 708.205.6467 or Anne Klassman at 773.294.4154.
