Kid's Carnival at Wonder Works will follow bike ride and go all day

Oak Park, Illinois - July 26, 2006 - Wonder Works, a Children's Museum in Oak Park, is sponsoring a family ride on August 20 as part of the annual Wright Ride put on by the Oak Park Cycle Club and Oak Park Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. This family bike ride is open to bicyclists of all ages and skill levels and follows a 2.5 mile route that will run from the Oak Park River Forest High School to Wonder Works. Following the ride at Wonder Works is a carnival complete with contests, games and other events for kids and families.

New to the Wright Ride this year, this special 2.5 mile route is especially designed for families with children ages one to twelve years old, though bicyclists of all ages are welcome. The Wonder Works-sponsored event will raise money for the non-profit children's museum, Oak Park Cycle Club and Oak Park Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. The family ride is a part of the annual Wright Ride, which features ten, twenty-five, fifty and sixty-two mile routes that feature the world-class architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright throughout 14 western suburbs.

Wonder Works' Family Ride and the Wright Ride will begin at 9am. The ride will begin at the Oak Park River Forest High School located at 201 N. Scoville Avenue in Oak Park. Sign-in and day of event registration is from 6:30am to 9:00am. Family Ride participants can register on-line at www.wonder-works.org or by calling 708.383.4815. The cost of the all-day children's event sponsored by Wonder Works, which includes the Family Ride and admission to the carnival, is $15 per person or a maximum of $45 per family. For those wishing to attend the carnival but not the Family Ride, admission into Wonder Works is $5 per person and free for members and children under age one.
