Wonder Works Fall Session Class Schedule Announced

Classes establish working partnership between parent and child

Oak Park, Illinois - September 17, 2010 - Wonder Works, a Children's Museum in Oak Park, will begin its fifth year of offering classes for children between the ages of six months to four years. The fall session will run from September 20 to November 13 and will offer classes in creative play, music, and arts and crafts.

Wonder Works fosters the concept of parents or caregivers participating in the classes with their child. During the classes, adult and child spend time together and learn new ways to interact with each other and other families.

This year the museum is also offering drawing classes provided by Young Rembrandts. For over 20 years, Young Rembrandts has taught drawing to children ages 3 1/2 to 12 by partnering with day care centers, pre-schools, elementary schools and other organizations to supply or augment the current art program offerings. A Preschool Drawing Class will be offered at Wonder Works on Tuesdays from 10 to 10:45 am beginning September 21 through November 9.

With nearly fifty percent of children's learning taking place in the first four years of their lives - most occurring within the first eighteen months - exercise and sensory stimulation play a key role in improving a child's learning potential, as well as enhancing his or her feelings of physical coordination and self-worth.

A complete schedule of classes offered, descriptions and fees can be found on the museum's website, Brochures are available at the museum or by calling 708-383-4815. Registration is required to attend the eight-week fall session.
