Wonder Works Announces 2006/2007 Concert Series Performers
Children's entertainer Joel Frankel kicks off the series on Sunday, October 22; Jim Gill set to perform on Sunday, November 19

Oak Park, Illinois - September 29, 2006 - Wonder Works, a Children's Museum in Oak Park, kicks off its Concert Series with live performances by Joel Frankel on Sunday, October 22 and Jim Gill on Sunday, November 19.

Frankel, a singer, songwriter and children's entertainer, has been entertaining families for nearly two decades. His performance will showcase songs from his latest CD, "Ship of Chocolate Chips," which won a Parents' Choice Award. His three other children's albums, "Don't Sit On A Cactus," "I Can't Sit Still" and "JoJo's Barnyard Bash," have received awards as well. Frankel is a member of the venerable Old Town School of Folk Music faculty and has developed a creative and stimulating musical performance that captivates listeners of all ages.

Gill, an Oak Park favorite, is by training a child development specialist with a Master's Degree from the Erikson Institute for Advanced Studies in Child Development. During the week he leads weekly programs in music and supported play for families with young children with special needs. Most of the games included on Jim's recordings are a product of this work, which he has been involved in since 1984.

Both concerts will begin at 4pm, and the museum will have special hours on concert days. Wonder Works will close at 3:30pm for non-ticket holders and will remain open to concert-goers. Tickets are $5 for members, $8 for non-members and free for children under age one. Tickets are on sale now for the Joel Frankel concert; Jim Gill concert tickets go on sale October 15
