Partners in Play to Hold Classes at Wonder Works, a Children's Museum in Oak Park
Music, craft and movement classes for children begin September 19 at Wonder Works

Oak Park, Illinois, September 8, 2005 -- Wonder Works, a Children's Museum in Oak Park, announced today that Partners in Play will begin offering classes at the museum starting September 19. Partners in Play, which has provided children's programming for 22 years in the Oak Park area, will offer its arts and crafts, active play and music classes for children age birth to five years.

The non-profit Partners in Play closed its location in Forest Park in June and looked in the area for a new space to hold its classes.

"This is a perfect partnership between two organizations that value creative play for children and their families," says Elizabeth Smith, executive director of Wonder Works. "The community will benefit from having both organizations together under one roof."

"Most learning takes place in the first four years of a child's life," says Mary Bodlak, director of Partners in Play. "And moving our program to Wonder Works makes so much sense because both organizations nurture learning through family fun."

Classes for Partners in Play at Wonder Works meet once a week, for an eight- week session. Most classes run from 30 to 50 minutes (a few classes are longer) and fees range from $32 to $85. Classes start at either 9am or 10am Monday through Saturday. Wonder Works, which is closed to the public Monday and Tuesday except for field trips, will now be open for Partners in Play classes.

A Saturday class, "Super Saturday", offers 30 minutes each of crafts, music and play activities from 9am to 10:30am for children age 1 1/2 to 4 and their parents or caregiver.

The first session of Partners in Play will run from September 19 to November 11 and the second session will take place November 14 to January 27, 2006.

A full schedule and registration form can be found at www.partners-in-play.org or at www.wonder-works.org. For more information, call Partners in Play at 773-745-1145 or Wonder Works at 708-383-4815.

Wonder Works, a Children's Museum in Oak Park, is located at 6445 W. North Avenue, Oak Park. Wonder Works and Partners in Play are non-profit organizations.
