Wonder Works Celebrates Summer With Lego Day Event and Third Annual Bubble Festival

OAK PARK, Illinois -- July 27, 2005 -- Celebrate summer by becoming a Lego architect and a bubble scientist at Wonder Works, a Children's Museum in Oak Park. Museum visitors can be a part of Lego Day on Saturday, August 6 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Bubble Festival on Saturday, August 20, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Co-sponsored by the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust, Lego and the National Preservation Trust, Wonder Works is proud to be the host for a special design and build Lego Day on Saturday, August 6. Kids and adults can create anything they imagine from one of the world's largest pile of Legos. A Lego ambassador will provide tips on creating with Legos and a model of a Frank LLoyd Wright home created from Legos will be on display. General museum admission is $5 per person (children under one and members are free), and this special event is $5 per person or $15 per family.

The Third Annual Wonder Works Bubble Festival on Saturday, August 20 will feature indoor and outdoor activity stations. Children can experiment with different bubbles, paint with bubbles, be inside of bubbles and perfect their blowing techniques. Each activity encourages children to ask questions and experience sensory learning. The festival is included in the price of admission, which is $5 per person. Children under one and members are free.

Wonder Works is located at 6445 W. North Avenue in Oak Park. For more information, call 708.383.4815 or visit www.wonder-works.org
