Frequently Asked Questions
What should I bring to the art room?
Yourself, your child, and an open mind!
How should I dress?
Most of our inks and paints are washable with a few exceptions. We supply aprons for children to wear. We encourage kids and parents to not wear their nicest clothes, as there are often “messy” things going on.
Is my child old enough?
Wonder Works is intended for children from birth to age eight. With this in mind, we ensure there are age appropriate activities available for all the children who may be in the museum. For the youngest children there are fine motor skill toys and sensory materials to explore. From there we supply a variety of activities and open ended art projects for that cater to the wide rage of ages and interests or our guests.
Who runs North Avenue Art Works?
The Wonder Works’ Artist in Residence operates all functions of the art room. The Artist in Residence works closely with other team members and volunteers who run the art room in their absence.
Do I need to make reservations?
No, the Wonder Works' art program is purely a drop-in program, designed to allow your child as much or as little time as they need to enjoy everything we offer.
What do I get to take home?
Yourself, your child, an appreciation for the artistic process and of course ALL of the masterpieces your child has created.
