Painting and Flowers Collide at this artistic fundraising event where kids (and adults) can express their creative side while supporting Wonder Works, the best little children’s museum.
- The Spring Fundraiser runs April 1, through
May 31Extended through June 20.
- Cost $5 - $8 per flowerpot
- Kids choose one of the ornamental flower pots, paint it with acrylic paints and plant it with their choice of flower.
The Wonder Works' Spring Fundraiser is great way to support the museum through your purchase of a decorative planter. It gives your child a chance to explore their creative side while painting their decorative planter, and a chance to explore nature as they help their flower grow. The proceeds go directly towards funding the Organic Garden and Purchasing new, educational toys for the museum.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to register in advance?
No registration is required, the Wonder Works' Spring Fundraiser is designed to add to your visit an is run as a drop-in program. Children can spend as much or as little time as they wish decorating and planting and then go back to playing and learning in the museum.
When is the fundraiser happening?
This is a Spring Fundraiser, and runs April 1, through May 31, and is available to purchase, whenever the Art Room is open. The art room opens 30 minutes after the museum opens and closes 30 minutes before the museum closes.
How should I dress?
We use acrylic paints for the planters and real soil for planting, so kids may get dirty. It is water cleanup, but the paint may stain clothing. We do provide full coverage art aprons.
Is my child old enough?
Yes, your child is old enough. 6 month olds can make a handprint or footprint keepsake, toddlers can finger paint and older children can really let their artistic sides out.
If this is a fundraiser, what is the money used for?
Every year Wonder Works raises money to fully support the Organic Garden through this Spring Fundraiser. This year we are expanding and will also be funding updates to the museum through the addition of new interactive educational toys.
Is it really only $5-$8?
Everything is included, the planter, paint, soil, flower and a little guidance. However, you do have to cover admission to the museum.
What do I get to take home with me?
Your planter and flower of course.
