Summer Workshops
Mad Science

Mad Science Summer Camp is a 3 hour/day; 5 days/week drop off program, which allows children to explore the topic of the camp in an age appropriate, in-depth manner. Parents are not required, but are welcome to stay at Wonder Works during the camp. To Sign-up for a Mad Science Summer Camp, please call Wonder Works at 708.383.4815.
The Garden
Monday - Friday, June 23-27, 2pm to 5pm
Children ages 4 to 5
$225 / child
Children will learn where plants grow, how weather makes a healthy garden, parts of a plant, what plants produce and other inhabitants of a garden.
Moving with Science
Monday - Friday, August 4-8, 2pm to 5pm
Children ages 6 to 10
$225 / child
Children will learn about wildlife, levers and pulleys, work on their very own “camera obscura” and become a Mad Science Scientist in this week long camp produced by Mad Science.
Wonder Works Summer Works Shops
Wonder Works Summer Work Shops are intended for children ages 5+, adults are optional in the class room, but must stay in the building. Each workshop is offered twice over the summer, and may be available for special bookings for groups of at least 10 children.
The following are the workshops offered with their dates, times and prices. Workshops can be signed up for by calling us at 708.383.4815, or by filling out our class registration form here. Drop-ins are welcome.
Tie-Dye a T-Shirt
$10/child

Saturday, August 2 at 11am
Make a groovy, colorful shirt for summer! Children receive a t-shirt to tie-dye and can bring up to 2 shirts of their own. Please make sure children are dressed appropriately.
Paint Your Own Birdhouse
$10/child
Wednesday, July 9 at 3:30pm
Saturday, August 9 at 11am
Create a colorful home for birds and enjoy nature in a new way. Wonder Works will give each child a wooden birdhouse to paint and take home.
Paper Making
$5/child
Wednesday, June 18 at 3:30pm
Saturday, July 26 at 11am
Simulate how recycled paper is made, Starting with used paper from the art room, children will soak it, blend it into pulp then flatten into new paper to be used again.
