Paint Covered Wednesdays
Every other Wednesday (May - September) of the month at Wonder Works is Paint Covered Wednesday, with different painting activities and themes each week. Children experiment with a variety of paints, canvas materials, and painting tools as they strengthen their imaginative abilities, experiment with textures and learn artistic concepts all through creative play; guided by our Artist in Residence, Michell Martinez. This event is covered by general admission.

Harvest Time
Join Wonder Works in the great Organic Garden Harvest. Every Wednesday starting in July, Wonder Works will be harvesting produce from the Organic Garden and donating it to the Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry. Helpers will have the opportunity to explore the garden, smell all the herbs, pick a few flowers and take home a piece of freshly picked produce. Harvest Time is open to everyone and no admission is required.

Piano Time with Paya
Pavlina Parks puts on an interactive musical performance, playing a selection of classic children's songs on the piano and accepting requests. Piano Time with Paya is held on the first and third Thursdays, May through September. This event is covered by general admission.
Saturday, August 4, 9:30am to 10:30am
Gardening Time
Stop by Wonder Works every Saturday morning and get your hands dirty. This fun, learning adventure in gardening lets you explore the Wonder Works Organic Garden, examine all the different plants, inspect the different insects, remove unwanted growth and learn to use a variety of garden tools. Participating children may be able to take home a piece of freshly picked produce. Gardening time is open to everyone, no admission is required.

The volunteer orientation introduces volunteers to the culture of Wonder Works, and sets the foundation for a successful future of volunteering at the museum.
